Current Projects
The three agencies that make up the Developmental Disability Network are collaborating on the following projects. Each project is unique in design and demonstrates the the commitment each agency has to assist individuals with disabilities and their families improve their lives overall.
- DD Network Priorities Survey, Please tell us how we can help individuals with disabilities in Kentucky! The following needs assessment survey will help us set our future priorities. You may have received a form from the DD Council, IHDI or P&A asking you to complete a needs assessment survey. If you have received this form and returned it to IHDI, please do not complete the following on-line survey. If you have any questions whether you have completed this form, please contact Christina Tyler.
- Kentucky Assistive Technology Loan Fund, to provide low interest loans for assistive technology and home modifications.
- Inclusive Education Initiative, to establish model inclusive school sites throughout
Kentucky emphasizing high achievement for all students.
- Preservice Health Training Project, to provide training to medical, nursing, physician assistant, and dental students on the needs of individuals with developmental disabilities.
- Language Line, to provide an over-the-phone Interpretation Service that provides professional interpretation from English into more than 140 languages, 24 hours a day. P & A uses Language Line with non-English speaking callers that contact its office for assistance. Language line is funded by KCDD.
- Outreach to Hispanic Community, to provide information to the Hispanic Community on services and supports for individuals with disabilities and their families.
- Assistive Technology (AT) Training, with a focus on how to obtain funding for AT.
